Overall Feedback: Bright Asylum may look unassuming on the outside, but we promise you all hell breaks loose on the inside! Bright Asylum is by FAR one of New Jersey’s top haunted attractions! Located in a dark & desolate portion of Passaic New Jersey, a rather creepy & unnerving setting for some Halloween festivities. Brighton Asylum is continually beefing up their midway, ensuring guests are entertained both inside and outside of the attractions. Partake in a thrilling round of axe throwing, test your fate in an escape room, snag some Brighton Asylum merch from the all-new gift shop, stroll through the horror memorabilia museum, & commemorate your experience with a group picture at one of the many frightastic photo-ops! We can’t forget to mention our good friend FRANKIE, a crazed asylum patient that can be found tormenting patrons outside of the attractions.
Three main attractions are available to satisfy your hankerings for spine-chilling scares - The PORT9L, Brighton Asylum, & The Bleeding Grounds. The PORT9L was vastly redesigned since our last visit, as we traversed through what felt like a brand new attraction. Stunning visual and audio effects were used throughout the attraction to make for an immersive and intense experience! Scene after scene we were continually amazed with the pure attention to detail and elegance the set designs possessed. Lots of dark & eerie passageways made for ample secretive hiding spots for the spooks to lurk in. We were on the receiving end of countless spine-tingling startles. As you traverse through the deranged Brighton Asylum, make it a swift journey or you could very well be the next manic patient admitted for testing. More visually stunning sets were encountered, putting our heads on a swivel as we tried to devour the visual eye candy in each scene. You have every right to fear what lurks around each twist & turn, as the Brighton Asylum will leave a nightmarish impression you’ll never forget. The Bleeding Grounds rounded out the experience on an exhilarating note. More aesthetically pleasing sets were encountered, leaving us continually in awe! The path of travel through The Bleeding Grounds was rather disorienting; between the sloped & slanted floors as well as stunning audio & visual effects, we were immensely vulnerable to countless blood-curdling startles!
Across the board at Brighton Asylum, you’ll encounter a passionate group of scare actors with a pure knack for scaring the crap out of guests. These folks utilize improv perfectly in order to create a personable experience. They definitely aren’t afraid to be up close and personal - so yes, your “bubble space” is going to be invaded. We thoroughly appreciated their amped up energy and relentless attack. To keep things short and simple, the Brighton Asylum scare actors were well trained and were easily some of the best encountered during our 2021 haunt tour! Not to mention, each scare actor possessed movie quality costuming and makeup head to toe!
Brighton Asylum never ceases to amaze us, as they’ve become one of our squad’s all time favorite haunted attractions! Yes we thoroughly enjoy the movie quality sets and top notch scare acting, but what we love the most is Brighton Asylum's clear passion for entertaining guests. This is a attraction haunt goers can visit year after year without worry of it ever going stale! Rich (owner of Brighton Asylum) and his team are constantly updating and ensuring their attractions are first class quality. To take an empty warehouse and turn it into a visually stunning, thrilling, and elegantly horrifying adventure takes a lot of energy and passion! The sets are state of the art and Brighton Asylum as a whole provides an innovative experience.
