Haunted Hoochie — 2025 Review
Location: Pataskala, Ohio
Date: 10/9/2025
Website: www.deadacres.com
Overall Rating: 9/10
Haunted Hoochie is unlike anything else you’ll experience in the haunt world. Offensive, hands-on, raunchy, and absolutely unapologetic—it pushes boundaries while delivering in-your-face terror. If you’re easily offended, you best stay home. If not, strap in for a bizarre, unrelenting ride that will leave you rattled, laughing nervously, and wondering “what the hell did I just experience?”
Entertainment Value: 8.5/10
Hoochie isn’t just a haunt—it’s an entire raunchy midway and carnival atmosphere. Outside, you’ll find food stands, photo ops, glow-up masks for purchase, roaming characters, and even go-go dancers, alongside controversial signage that sets the tone before you ever enter. A small rollercoaster, a spinning Ferris wheel, and an operational funhouse reinforce the carnival chaos vibe.
Once inside, the main attraction (Haunted Hoochie) typically delivers a 20–25 minute gauntlet of insanity, followed almost directly by the trippy, chaotic Bad Trip 3D. This year, however, our experience felt noticeably shorter. Entering just before midnight, we clocked around 15–20 minutes inside and felt rushed through compared to prior seasons when pacing allowed for a much longer, fuller show.
The inconsistency is worth noting: When we initially arrived around 10:30pm smaller groups were being let into the Hoochie, but later in the night large packs of 20ish guests were pushed through at once. That diminished the scare factor, as spacing was lost and intensity spread thin. For a haunt that thrives on shock and in-your-face action, consistent pacing is key.
Costume & Makeup: 8/10
Costuming and makeup matched the characters and scenes well enough to keep immersion believable. While nothing here is movie-quality artistry, the grit fits the grimy, raunchy aesthetic. The vibe is more about being unsettling and in-your-face than polished beauty.
Cast & Crew: 10/10
The cast is what makes Haunted Hoochie legendary. They are aggressive, relentless, and not afraid to push boundaries. Be prepared to be shoved, grabbed, pulled, secluded, tickled, and berated with offensive dialogue. The skits are raunchy, crude, and shocking—but delivered with an energy and commitment that few haunts can match.
The black-cloaked fella roaming the outdoor queue was a highlight. He lingered, lurked, and unsettled guests all night. At one point, he tried to “murder us” before the show even began and only relented after we promised to let him try once we’d gone through—perfectly in character.
Set Design & Special Effects: 9/10
Haunted Hoochie is stacked with spectacle and insanity around every corner. You don’t just walk through scenes—you’re assaulted by them. Highlights included:
Flight 666 – A plane simulation that genuinely feels like walking through turbulence, with massive crashed aircraft littering the area.
Warzone – An intense military battle scene with open fire effects.
Sacrifice Church Scene – Gory and shocking.
Chainsaw Massacre – From a man cut in half to a room swarmed with chainsaws, it’s a full-on sensory overload.
Monkey Room – Loud, realistic animatronics created a bizarre, disorienting environment.
Swamp Scene – Sharks suspended above gave the illusion of swimming overhead.
Cemetery & Crypts – Dense with animatronics, creating a chaotic and overwhelming feel.
Infamous Shock Value Moments – From women slicing men’s balls, to a demon baby birth scene, to farmyard horrors involving chickens and sheep—the Hoochie doesn’t shy away from controversy.
On top of it all, several of the indoor scenes are jam-packed with massive animatronics as far and high as you can see. The sheer density of moving parts is overwhelming—how they even squish that much machinery into one space is a miracle. The design blends animatronics, gore, and sheer vulgarity to create an atmosphere you won’t forget. It’s a sensory overload that leaves you spinning, wide-eyed, and wondering where to even look.
Fright/Thrill Factor: 9.5/10
Intensity is the Hoochie’s calling card. The actors are aggressive, the sets are overwhelming, and the sheer number of “WTF” moments makes this haunt an adrenaline ride. That said, it could be even more intense. Smaller groups, more seclusion, and more raunchy dialogue-driven skits would amplify the unease. Bad Trip 3D also could benefit from ramping up its intensity to match the main haunt.
Sharpening the Scare:
Better pacing—commit to smaller groups all night long for consistent experiences.
Adding even more raunchy skits and actor-driven dialogue would elevate the “shock show” reputation.
Add foul/raunchy smells to scenes to further attack the senses.
Up the intensity inside Bad Trip 3D—match the chaos of the Hoochie itself.
More bizarre merch designs! Lean into the raunchy, offensive branding with shirts, hoodies, and oddball items that reflect what makes Hoochie infamous.
Jeff’s Haunted Hot Take:
“Sleaziest fun you’ll find without a shot of penicillin.”
Fright Night MVP:
The Black-Cloaked Roamer – Lurking in the outdoor queue, this character nailed the creep factor. Equal parts threatening and entertaining, he appeared from nowhere, unsettled guests, and stayed fully in character all night.
Recap the Screams:
Haunted Hoochie is not for the faint of heart. Offensive, chaotic, bizarre, and gleefully vulgar—it’s a sensory assault that thrives on crossing lines and pushing limits. From crashed airplanes and sacrificial rituals to demon births and chainsaw swarms, every corner offers something shocking. The cast’s intensity is unmatched, and the carnival atmosphere outside adds to the madness. For those who crave the raunchiest haunt experience in America, Hoochie delivers.
