Overall Feedback: When you first arrive at The Nevermore Haunt, it seems as though you’re in a forgotten part of Baltimore. As you pull into the dimly lit parking lot, which has ample parking spaces, you’re immediately immersed into a dark and eerie atmosphere. Just a short walk away, through a mostly abandoned block of old and decrepit appearing buildings, you’ll find The Nevermore Haunt. Don’t “judge a book by its cover” as this place certainly packs a frightening & spooky fun punch! The atmosphere was extra creepy the evening we attended as storms that passed through earlier that evening left behind dark and windy conditions. For your enjoyment outside of the attraction, The Nevermore Haunt features a few photo-op booths, a food vendor crafting up scrumptious offerings, and spooky libations for those over the age of 21. Upbeat music echoed throughout the small midway area, helping to keep an energizing buzz in the atmosphere. Several scare actors were roaming freely in the midway, engaging with guests and providing some startles before ever even entering the attraction.

The Nevermore Haunt is a one-attraction haunt providing a solid 15 minute adventure. General admission ticket cost ranges from $22-$30 depending on the evening you attend. Fast pass entry which allows you to skip the line is available for an additional $7-$10. There’s even a VIP admission ticket which includes fast pass admission into the attraction, a meal voucher, and a drink of your choice from the bar. Fortunately on the evening we attended we beat the crowd and only needed to pursue general admission tickets. After a brief wait we were cued to head inside to begin our experience.

Our squad of eight members on the evening was split into two groups of four for our journey through The Nevermore Haunt. “Jo-Mama” warmly greeted us at the entrance to the attraction and reviewed with us the rules of the attraction along with the backstory, which helped immerse us into the experience that lied ahead. The Nevermore Haunt transports it’s patrons back to late 19th century Baltimore where you’ll encounter a “macabre menagerie of specters and spirits; drowned sailors, tortured factory workers, unlicensed physicians, street urchins and mysterious creatures that defy description!” The Nevermore Haunt certainly provides a haunt experience unlike any other, as they rely heavily on theatrical actor performances to create an interactive, immersive, and frightening experience!

We began our journey through 19th century Baltimore by traversing through several candlelit corridors which lead to a room filled with caskets, where a ghostly spook greeted us and urged us to choose our path wisely. We’d then encounter an animated blacksmith, who threatened us with his hammer. A laboratory possessed a mad scientist who was frantically seeking organ donations. A fortune teller used her tarot cards to decipher our future, and the results revealed a rather grim outcome for our squad. The fortune teller divided our group, sending us in different directions through dark ruins elegantly decorated with skulls. We’d continue forth and venture through rat infested sewers, with very effective and immersive audio effects. Somewhere along the way a giant piranha like creature attacked us from out of nowhere and nearly devoured us whole. A miniature town backed up against a boat dock, where a townsman and ship captain were found loading the haphazardly stacked crates and barrels onto said boat. As we boarded the ship we were caught off guard as the entire scene began to shift and rock, creating the feeling of being out on the ocean. Our sea legs taunted us for several minutes as we attempted to regain our bearings. Continuing forth we traversed through several dark hallways with realistic & disorienting lightning effects utilized overhead, which would make any stormchaser proud! Lurking in a living room style scene was a manic fellow eagerly searching for a alcohol drenched liver, unfortunately none of ours suited his wants and needs. We nearly didn’t escape the bloody butcher, as he almost hacked off our limbs for his collection. Nearing the end of our adventure we traversed through an eerie and haunted cemetery. The grand finale scene featured man-eating creatures that caught us by surprise and had us running back into the midway.

After exiting The Nevermore Haunt we congregated back in the midway to snag a few group pictures and to discuss our thoughts on the experience. Our entire squad was pleasantly surprised by the experience that The Nevermore Haunt provides. Their detailed and elegantly crafted set designs, usage of audio and visual special effects, and interactive cast made for an immersive and engaging adventure. Special kudos to the entire cast for being energized, engaging, and providing frightening encounters throughout our journey. Some of our most memorable cast encounters were the butcher, blacksmith, fortune teller, doll room character, mad scientist, liver seeking man, ship captain, and of course we can’t forget “Jo-Mama”. We had the pleasure of chatting with several other patrons who shared that they thoroughly enjoyed their experience. If you’re looking for an evening that features some adult beverages coupled with spooky fun, then The Nevermore Haunt will likely satisfy your wants and needs. Don’t underestimate these folks, grab your friends and family, and head on over to The Nevermore Haunt for a guaranteed evening of frightening fun!
